PERSON PLACE OR THING
As an exhibition and an ongoing series of withing my body of work, Person, Place or Thing explores the relationship between identity and environment, drawing inspiration from the shadowy, introspective aesthetic of film noir. Using myself as a lens, this project examines how personal and collective spaces shape who we are through portraits and abstract landscapes. The works reflect my own experiences of identity and self-perception, inviting viewers to consider the complex interplay between who we are, where we belong, and the spaces that influence our journey.

Artist Statement: With these works, I threaded myself throughout to ground the works in reality while offering a kaleidoscopic mirror for viewers to explore the realm of self. The art deconstructs my cisgender gay identity inspired by the elements of film noir. By using myself as both subject and lens, I invite the viewer to reflect on how identity is shaped and reshaped by the spaces we inhabit and the societal roles we navigate.
